(Charleston, WV- September 1, 2014)- The West Virginia Power fell to the Asheville Tourists 5-0 on Monday afternoon at Appalachian Power Park in the series finale. Asheville held West Virginia to just three hits and scored two in the third to take the win.
The Tourists jumped on the board first with two runs in the third on RBI singles from Correlle Prime and Jose Briceno.
Asheville would tack on an insurance run in the seventh inning when Jordan Patterson drove in Ryan McMahon with a single and another in the ninth when Prime singled home a run.
Dovydas Neverauskas (6-12) was charged with the loss while Johendi Jiminian (14-6) earned the win and Alex Balog (1) tallied the save. Austin Meadows extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a double to finish the season.
The 2014 season has now come to an end. The Power finish the season at 54-81 overall. West Virginia opens the 2015 season at Appalachian Power Park hosting the Savannah Sand Gnats on April 9, 2015. For tickets or more information, call 304-344-BATS or visit www.wvpower.com.
