Rubber City McDonald's Teams with RubberDucks as Playoff Presenting Partner

(AKRON, OHIO) August 31, 2014 - The Akron RubberDucks announced today it has partnered with Rubber City McDonald's as the presenting sponsor for its run during the 2014 Eastern League Playoffs.
The RubberDucks clinched second place in the Eastern League's Western Division and will open the playoffs at Canal Park for Games 1 and 2 of the best-of-five semifinals vs. the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Wednesday, Sept. 3, starting at 6:35 p.m. Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6:35 p.m. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. both days.
Rubber City McDonalds will sponsor a fireworks display for each playoff game at Canal Park and it will be distributing coupons to fans on the way out of the gates. Game 2 will also be a bonus Thirsty Thursday, sponsored by D.G. Yuengling Brewery, featuring $1 draft and soda specials.
"We are thrilled to share the excitement of the postseason with Rubber City McDonald's. The playoffs are a perfect opportunity to partner with a strong local company and a great brand," said RubberDucks General Manager Jim Pfander.
As part of the presenting-sponsorship agreement, Rubber City McDonald's will receive in-game public-address announcements and videoboard messaging, concourse tabling, first-pitch opportunities, social media recognition, and inclusion in a special RubberDucks' playoff logo.
The Akron RubberDucks are the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The 2014 season is its 18th since moving to Canal Park and its first since becoming the RubberDucks.
