Today's Game: The RedHawks continue their final series of the regular season at 7:05 p.m. against the Iowa Cubs at Principal Park. With three games remaining, the RedHawks have a half-game lead over Omaha in the American Northern Division standings.

Last Game: Following a lengthy rain delay, Iowa overcame a three-run deficit and rebounded after letting a ninth-inning lead slip away to defeat the RedHawks, 5-4, in 11 innings Friday at Principal Park. Tied up 4-4 in the bottom of the 11th, Elliot Soto delivered a game-winning base hit to right field off Jorge De Leon (3-3). The RedHawks were able to send the game to extras after entering the ninth inning down, 4-3. Preston Tucker led off with a single and was then replaced by pinch runner Ruben Sosa. Sosa stole second base and advanced to third on a throwing error by Iowa catcher Eli Whiteside. Domingo Santana then knotted the score with a RBI single. OKC scored first Friday as Jonathan Villar hit a leadoff home run to start the game. Domingo Santana then led off of the second inning with a homer for a 2-0 lead. A RBI double by L.J. Hoes in the fourth gave the RedHawks a 3-0 advantage. RedHawks starting pitcher Nick Tropeano tossed 3.1 scoreless innings, but did not return after a rain delay during the fourth inning. The I-Cubs then tied the game in the fifth on a RBI single by Jae-Hoon Ha and an error by Ronny Torreyes that allowed two runs to score. Iowa took the lead in the eighth on a sac fly by Andrew Ely.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Luis Cruz (1-1) heads to the mound, looking to help the RedHawks rebound after last night...In his last start Sunday against Albuquerque, Cruz allowed three runs and five hits over 4.2 innings in a no decision. He held the Isotopes scoreless through four innings before Albuquerque scored three times in fifth, leading to his exit. Cruz finished with six strikeouts and three walks...Tonight marks Cruz's fifth start with the RedHawks. Before his promotion in early August, Cruz went 7-6 with one save in 21 appearances (17 starts) with Double-A Corpus Christi. He posted a 3.14 ERA with 92 strikeouts and 25 walks over 100.1 IP. At the time of his promotion, he led the Hooks in starts, innings, and strikeouts, and was tied for the team lead in wins...Cruz also owned the best WHIP in the Texas League (1.11), ranked fourth with a .231 opponent average, and 10th in ERA...In 17 of his 21 appearances with the Hooks, Cruz allowed two or fewer earned runs...Last season Cruz led all Astros minor leaguers with 150 strikeouts in 130.1 IP...Cruz made his Triple-A debut against the I-Cubs Aug. 9, allowing four runs and five hits over 5.2 innings, walking four and striking out seven in a no decision.

The RedHawks and I-Cubs last met Aug. 7-11 in OKC. Iowa won the series, 3-2, marking the I-Cubs' first series victory in Oklahoma City since the 2010 season. The I-Cubs won consecutive games in the same series at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark for the first time since taking three straight, July 31-Aug. 2, 2010...The RedHawks have a slight 63-62 advantage in runs scored in the season series...Only two games this season have been decided by more than three runs, with six of the 13 decided by one run (each team 3-3)...The RedHawks have won 11 of the last 18 games against Iowa, with eight of the last 15 decided by one run...The RedHawks finished 2-6 in Des Moines last season and are 14-27 at Principal Park since the start of the 2009 season. (2-3 in 2014.)

Tightening Up: The RedHawks have lost 1.5 games off their lead in first place the last two days. Yesterday's defeat snapped a five-game winning streak and marked the first time the RedHawks lost after leading by at least three runs since game one of a doubleheader on July 12 at Iowa (led 5-0, lost 6-5)...The RedHawks have won 11 of their last 15 games, including six of the last eight. Their 18 wins in August are the most they've accumulated in a single month this season.

Streaking Sclafani: Joe Sclafani went 1-for-5 with a walk Friday to extend his on-base streak to 42 consecutive games. It's the longest streak in the PCL since 2012, when Reno's Jake Elmore reached base in 46 straight games. During the streak, Sclafani is batting .352 with a .444 on-base percentage...Sclafani has hit safely in 26 of his last 30 games, batting .378 (42x111) with 18 RBI and 24 runs.

Hot Weather, Hot Bats: The RedHawks lead the PCL and all of the Minors with a .317 batting average in August. The RedHawks have scored at least five runs in 18 of their 27 games this month and have notched 10 or more runs four times. They've also recorded at least 10 hits in a game 18 times. Their 169 runs are the most they've scored in a month since plating 181 runs in July 2012.

Nip and Tuck: Preston Tucker is currently on an eight-game hitting streak, tying his season best. During the streak he is batting .407 (11x27) with eight RBI. Tucker has recorded 30 RBI this month, second-most in the PCL (Carlos Peguero, Omaha - 32). It's also the highest RBI total by a RedHawk in a single month since Nate Gold collected 32 in August 2007.

Santo Domingo: Over the last eight games, Domingo Santana is 12-for-23 with 13 RBI. Last night Santana drew three walks for the second time in four games. He's drawn eight walks over the last four games and has reached base in 17 of his last 23 plate appearances. Two of the times he did not reach base he hit sacrifice flies.

Pitching Prowess: The pitching staff has posted a 2.54 ERA (43 ER/152.1 IP) and held opponents to a .224 average (123x550) during their last 17 games. In nine of the 17 contests, they have allowed two or fewer runs...Over the last 18 games, the starting rotation has a 2.42 ERA (29 ER/107.2 IP), while holding opponents to a .221 average (86x390). They've compiled 95 strikeouts against 31 walks over 107.2 IP and turned in 13 quality starts, including seven starts of 7+ innings...The team's 3.46 ERA this month is tops in the PCL.

Dinger Details: Last night the RedHawks hit more than one home run in a game for the first time since Aug. 3...Jonathan Villar's leadoff blast was the third by a RedHawk this season, and the third of his RedHawks career. He also hit a leadoff homer in Iowa on May 24, 2013.

No-K Corral: Ronny Torreyes has not struck out in 117 consecutive plate appearances. He is the hardest player to strike out in the PCL (one per 22.0 PA), and the second-hardest in all of the Minors (Willians Astudillo, Low-A Lakewood - 22.8 PA/K).

Plate Patience: Over the last five games, the RedHawks have drawn 31 walks while striking out 26 times.
