Chihuahuas Rally past Salt Lake 8-7

August 29, 2014 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The El Paso Chihuahuas scored six times in the bottom of the seventh inning in their 8-7 win over the Salt Lake Bees Thursday night. It was the Chihuahuas fifth consecutive victory, one shy of a team high. The Chihuahuas have won eight of their last ten games. If El Paso can win three of the season's final four games, the club would finish with a .500 record.

Cody Decker went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, his 26th long ball of the season. Decker became the first Chihuahuas player to go deep in four consecutive games. Jeison Asencio went 2-for-5 with his third Triple-A home run and also had two different plate appearances where he saw ten pitches or more.

Robbie Erlin allowed four first inning runs but followed with five shutout frames in a no-decision. Stephen Kohlscheen left the tying run on third base to end the game and collect his first save in the Padres organization. Thursday's sellout was the 44th of the season at Southwest University Park.
