ThunderBolts Rained out in Evansville

August 28, 2014 - Frontier League (FL)
Windy City ThunderBolts News Release

EVANSVILLE, IN - Thursday's scheduled game between the ThunderBolts and the Evansville Otters has been cancelled due to heavy storms in Southern Indiana.

The game, which had been scheduled for a 6:35 start was delayed as a slight rain forced the tarp onto the field prior to first pitch. The rain quickly picked up into a downpour, forcing a delay of 55 minutes before action was finally called.

The ThunderBolts and Otters have no more games scheduled against each other this year, meaning this game will not be made up. It is the first cancelled game for Windy City since July of 2010.

The ThunderBolts begin their season-ending six-game homestand on Friday evening as they welcome the first-place Schaumburg Boomers to town. Brian Oliver (0-1, 7.50) is scheduled to start for Windy City against Schaumburg's Eddie Cody (6-1, 3.04). It is the final Budweiser Fill 'R Up Friday at Standard Bank Stadium, with drink deals throughout the night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 and fans not in attendance can hear the broadcast on WXAV 88.3 fm and wxav.com.
