Vancouver, B.C. - Gage Ramsay scored twice to lead Team Quinn, coached by Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher, to a 2-1 victory over Team Howe in the annual Vancouver Giants Alumni Challenge intra-squad game at Sungod Recreation Centre in Delta on Wednesday night. Calgary Flames forward Lance Bouma was behind the bench for Team Howe in a losing cause.
Ramsay netted his first of the night just 2:04 into the middle frame when he knocked a centring feed from David Brumm past goaltender Cody Porter to give Team Quinn the lead. Just over three minutes later, Ramsay converted again from in close after Joel Hamilton found him in front. Jakob Stukel got one back for Team Howe later in the evening when he fired a wrist shot past Tyler Shugrue from the high slot.
The Alumni Challenge marks the end of Giants training camp. The team will now turn its focus to the pre-season which begins on Friday night in Kamloops. The G-Men play their first exhibition home game on Sunday at Sungod Rec Centre against the Kelowna Rockets. Face-off is set for 5:00pm.
