Portland Pirates Announce 2014-15 Season Schedule

Portland, ME - Today the American Hockey League released schedules for its 30 member clubs, including the Portland Pirates. The action kicks off at 7 p.m. on October 11 at the all-new Cross Insurance Arena where the Pirates will take on the Providence Bruins.

"As we return to our newly renovated home in Portland, the Cross Insurance Arena, we are extremely confident that this year's schedule will add to our commitment to provide our fans with a world-class hockey experience every home game," said COO Brad Church.

Opening Night, brought to you by the Bill Dodge Auto Group, will feature a jersey rally towel giveaway. Other schedule highlights include a Halloween matchup against the defending Eastern Conference champion St. John's IceCaps, Military Appreciation Night against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on November 8, the annual Black Friday game against the Providence Bruins on November 26, and a New Year's Eve game against the Hartford Wolf Pack.

The 2014-15 season is the team's 22nd season in Portland. The Pirates will face off against every Eastern Conference team on the 2014-2015 slate, including the Syracuse Crunch. The two teams haven't faced off in regular season play since 2009-2010.

"Having our closest rival in Providence as our opponent for opening night is very exciting," said Church. "Unlike seasons past our fans will have the opportunity to see every team in the Eastern Conference."

In Atlantic Division play, the Pirates will play 6 home games and 6 away games against both the Manchester Monarchs and the Providence Bruins. The Manchester games will be part of the VIP Cup Series presented by VIP Tires and Service. They will also play five home and 5 away games against St. John's, and 4 at home and 4 away against Worcester.

Ticket packages for this season start at $96 for the Six-Pack Pick "˜Em deal, all the way up to Full-Season ticket packages. The special Opening Night package starts at $32 and includes a ticket to Opening Night presented by Bill Dodge Auto Group, a Pirates t-shirt, and another ticket to a game of choice.
