Knoxville Ice Bears News Release

Knoxville, TN - (August 26, 2014) Knoxville Ice Bears announced today that the club has signed Knoxville's leading scorer Francis Drolet along with rookies Vince Perreault and Daniel Morin.

Drolet, (5'11", 180 lbs.), is entering his second season with the Ice Bears where the Lachine, QC, CAN native led Knoxville in scoring as a rookie with 53 points (24G, 29A) in 55 games played. Prior to joining the Ice Bears, Francis played four season for Brown University.

"I had a great experience in my first pro year with Knoxville." Said Drolet, a native of Lachine, Quebec. "It's hard to imagine playing anywhere other than Knoxville and it's easy to come back to such a great organization with great fans and another chance to win a championship. I know we've lost some good vets and they will be hard to replace, but I'm excited to see how some new players and returning players will step in and fill those big shoes."

Perreault, (5'11", 172 lbs.), a forward from Braeside, ON, CAN spent the last four seasons playing for Westfield State University in NCAA III, where he captained his team for three seasons. During his tenure, Vince racked up 86 points in 100 games played. He also played six games for the Ice Bears last March registering two goals and two assists.

"After the short, but great experience I had in Knoxville last season and the playoff run, I got to be a part of their organization and there really wasn't anywhere else I'd rather be," said Perreault. "I'm just extremely excited to be coming back and really looking forward to the season."

Morin, (6'3", 214 lbs.), a defenseman from Ignace, ON, CAN spent the last two seasons playing for Kirkland Lake Gold Miners of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), where he collected 46 points in 56 games played. During the 2013-2014 season, Dan served as the captain and led his team to the NOJHL championship.

"I am quite happy about Dan heading South in October," said Craigen. "He's a no-nonsense guy who has a really good presence on the ice with his size and strength. He should make the corners at the Coliseum a pretty unfriendly area for our opposition."
