August 26, 2014 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Salt Lake Bees News Release

The Salt Lake Bees completed their 50th one-run game of the season, a tying the franchise record, as they fell to the New Orleans Zephyrs 6-5 Monday night at Smith's Ballpark. Salt Lake starter Caleb Clay (3-6) allowed six runs over 6.2 innings to take his fifth straight loss as Alex Sanabia (7-5) grabbed the win.

The Zephyrs opened the scoring with three runs in the second and extended their lead to 5-0 with two more strikes in the following inning. The Bees were held scoreless until the fifth inning when Vance Albitz doubled, moved to third on a Tony Campana ground out and scored on a single from Shawn O'Malley. The visitors replied with another run in the seventh with a solo homer off the bat of Derek Dietrich. The Bees then put together a three-run seventh that included a RBI double from Albitz and a two-out error by second baseman Dietrich that led to two unearned runs. The home team continued their scoring drive unanswered as Brennan Boesch reached base on another New Orleans error and was eventually driven home by a pinch-hit single from J.B. Shuck. The run would end there as the Bees fell just short of a comeback victory. Albitz led the Bees offense, ending the night 3-for-3 with a walk, two runs and an RBI.

The Bees are back tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. for the final Kellogg's Kids Eat Free Tuesday and wrap up their 2014 campaign at home Wednesday night. For more information or tickets visit slbees.com .
