Bulls Set for Training Camp

August 25, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Belleville Bulls News Release

BELLEVILLE, ON - The Belleville Bulls begin preparations for their 34th season of OHL hockey this week at the Yardmen Arena, opening Training Camp on Wednesday with 43 players in attendance.

A fresh crop of prospects come to the Friendly City with the hopes of making a strong impression on Bulls coaching staff and scouting minds.

With a large contingent of returning players on the roster, the Bulls have set their sights on ascending the Eastern Conference standings and getting into the thick of things this season.

Offseason moves have included the commitments of three selections from the 2014 OHL Priority Selection. First round selection Brandon Saigeon, along with second round choice Cole Candella and fourth round pick Jack Hanley have all expressed their enthusiasm to be Bulls.

In a recent trade, Bulls Head Coach and General Manager George Burnett acquired feisty overaged winger Brett Gustavsen from the Ottawa 67's. What the 5-foot-7 Gustavsen lacks in size, he makes up for in heart and determination and has always proven to be a tough opponent for the Bulls over the years.

Training Camp opens at the Yardmen Arena on Wednesday with scrimmages taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The players will hit the ice twice on Thursday and Friday, with the sessions beginning at 9:30am and 6:30pm on both days. Saturday's scrimmage is slated for 12:00pm. All scrimmages are open to the public.

Stop by the Yardmen and see the 2014-15 Belleville Bulls take shape this week!
