Jose Urena (W, 12-8) collected his 12th win of the year after allowing a lone run (earned) on four hits with no walks and four strikeouts over seven excellent innings. The win now has the right-hander tied for the Southern lead in victories on the 2014 season.

Blake Logan held the Smokies scoreless over his two innings of relief, giving up three hits while striking out two batters in his relief effort.

Felix Pena (L, 2-3) took the loss after being hit hard to the tune of 12 runs (all earned) on eight hits with five walks and a strikeout in 2.2 innings of work.

The Suns wasted no time scoring on Friday, grabbing seven runs on five hits in the top of the first. The Suns received RBI singles from J.T. Realmuto and Viosergy Rosa, a bases-clearing double from Joe Benson, a Terrence Dayleg RBI double and a Jose Urena RBI sacrifice bunt to take a 7-0 lead after one half-inning of play. Each of the first eight batters of the ballgame reached against Felix Pena.

Joe Benson (HR, 10) helped the Suns further the lead with a two-run homer in the top of the second. Benson's 10th longball of the year made it a 9-0 Suns advantage after one and a half innings complete.

The Suns did not slow down at the plate in the top of the third, scoring six more runs, all with two outs to further their advantage. An Austin Barnes RBI double, a J.T. Realmuto RBI single, a bases loaded walk to Joe Benson and a bases-clearing double from Terrence Dayleg had the Suns ahead 15-0 with two and a half innings in the books.

Austin Barnes (HR, 9) belted a solo homer to left in the top of the fourth inning to give Jacksonville a 16-0 lead.

The Smokies eventually hopped on the board with a run in the bottom of the fifth. Stephen Bruno's sacrifice fly plated Christian Villanueva to make it a 16-1 Suns lead through five innings of play.

Viosergy Rosa added to Jacksonville's lead in the top of the seventh, as his RBI double made it a 17-1 advantage in favor of the Suns.

Austin Barnes (HR, 10) clubbed his second homer of the game to lead off the top of the ninth inning, with his 10th homer of the year making it an 18-1 Suns lead.

Joe Benson's six RBI is the most by any Suns player on the 2014 season.

Jacksonville's 18 runs is the most runs the Suns have scored in a single ballgame since becoming an affiliate of the Miami Marlins in 2009.

Nine different Suns had hits in the ballgame, including two-hit efforts from Joe Benson, Terrence Dayleg and Viosergy Rosa plus three-hit performances out of Austin Barnes and J.T. Realmuto.

Jacksonville finished the game 10-for-19 with runners in scoring position.

The Suns and Smokies will be back at it on Saturday, with first pitch set for 6:15 p.m. ET from Smokies Stadium. The Suns are set to throw out right-hander Jay Rogers (6-5, 4.20) for the opener, while the Smokies will counter with a righty of their own in Corey Black (6-7, 3.06).
