Lavin delivers walk-off for Fightin Phils

Peter Lavin provided a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 12th inning to give the Fightin Phils (58-74) a walk-off win as they defeated the Erie SeaWolves (64-67) by a score of 4-3. The Fightin Phils are now 9-2 in extra inning games this season.

Zach Collier hit a RBI single off Warwick Saupold in the bottom of the 2nd inning to score Jake Fox and give the Fightin Phils a 1-0 lead. Erie tied the game off Adam Loewen in the top of the 7th inning as Jamie Johnson scored off a fielder's choice by Devon Travis. The SeaWolves chased Loewen out of the game in the top of the 8th inning despite recording two outs after taking a 3-1 lead. Drew Longley and Jamie Johnson hit back-to-back RBI singles off Loewen.

Raywilly Gomez tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the 9th off reliever Angel Nesbitt as he hit a two-run home run to score Brock Stassi who walked in the previous at-bat. Colton Murray tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief as he gave up just one hit and struck out one batter. Kyle Simon earned the win as he tossed two shutout innings.

The Fightin Phils and Erie SeaWolves play tomorrow evening at 6:35 pm from FirstEnergy Stadium. Hoby Milner (8-6, 4.25 ERA) will get the start for the Fightin Phils.
