Stanley Cup Public Viewing Friday
August 21, 2014 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Kelowna Rockets News Release
Former Kelowna Rockets goaltender coach Kim Dillabaugh is holding a public viewing of the Stanley Cup on Friday in Kelowna, after winning his second Cup as a member of the LA Kings coaching staff earlier this year.
Now a full time goalie coach for the LA Kings, Dillabaugh will host a public viewing and picture event at Prospera Place from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday where fans will be able to come and get a picture with the Cup.
It's the second time Dillabaugh has won the Cup with the Kings.
Dillabaugh was hired full time this off-season by the Kings and resigned his position after 11 seasons as a Rockets assistant. Dillabaugh is also a Rockets alumni player, having played for the original Tacoma Rockets and in Kelowna before moving into coaching.
Meanwhile the Rockets rookie training camp is continuing through Sunday with close to 100 young hockey prospects skating in games at Prospera Place. The Rockets main training camp will begin Monday night and run until Friday.
Kelowna opens the WHL exhibition season at home on Aug. 30 vs. Kamloops.
