Skeeters Defeat Blue Crabs in 3-0 Shutout

(Sugar Land, TX) - The Sugar Land Skeeters took down the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 3-0 in Game 1 of the series. En route to the shutout, David Pauley pitched 7.0 innings and allowed just two hits during his time on the mound. The right-hander also delivered a personal season-high nine strikeouts.
In the bottom of the eighth with no runs on the board, left fielder Ryan Langerhans (2x4) sent one over the wall in right field. Designated hitter Delwyn Young (1x3) followed with a second solo home run. Right fielder Brian Barton (2x3) singled, advanced to second on a hit by Todd Jennings (1x4), and then scored the third and final run of the inning on a double by Dominic Ramos (1x3).
Roy Corcoran collected the win in Thursday night's game after pitching the eighth, allowing one hit and issuing three strikeouts. Gary Majewski tossed the ninth and earned his 22nd save of the season.
