Danville Otterbots News Release

DANVILLE, VA - Danville Braves' third baseman Jordan Edgerton has officially been named an Appalachian League All-Star, capping off what has been a great first professional season for the rookie out of UNC Pembroke.

The powerful slugger has shown promise at both the plate and third base defensively, leading league in RBI with 40 through 50 games this season. Edgerton has also made countless eye-popping defensive plays at the hot corner for Danville, on top of his .266 batting average, three home runs, 40 RBI, and 11 doubles. Edgerton was the lone player from the Braves selected to the 2014 Appy League All-Star Team.

The Elizabethton Twins took all the major individual honors for the year. Max Murphy was named the Appy League's Player of the Year, Felix Jorge was named the pitcher of the year for his efforts starting games and relief appearances, and Twins' Manager Ray Smith was named the Manager of the Year.
