Lansing Lugnuts News Release

LANSING, Mich. - In conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, the Lansing Lugnuts have received prospect third baseman Ryan "Rowdy" Tellez from the Bluefield Blue Jays ( Rookie - Appalachian League). In a corresponding move, pitcher Miguel Castro has been promoted to Dunedin (A-Adv. - Florida State League) .

Tellez, 19, entered the 2014 season rated the Blue Jays' #18 prospect by Baseball America and did nothing in Bluefield to diminish that consideration. In 53 games, he batted .293 with four homers and 36 RBIs - including a blistering .400 average (20-for-50, three homers, 17 RBIs) in August.

Castro, 19, entered this year as Baseball America's 26th-best prospect. In four starts with Lansing, he posted a 1-1 record with a 3.74 ERA. On Thursday evening, the right-hander fired seven impressive scoreless innings at West Michigan in a no-decision.
