August 21, 2014 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Calgary Stampeders News Release

Calgary Stampeders players, alumni, coaches and management will be joined by sponsors, season-ticket holders and Stampeders Foundation supporters for a day on the links followed by a dinner reception at the golf course. Members of the media are asked to contact Jonathan Anderson at janderson@stampeders.com if they wish to interview Stampeders players and staff at either event.

The Stampeders Foundation is the charitable arm of the Calgary Stampeders Football Club and is dedicated to bringing a healthier and bringer future for Calgarians. Last season, the Stampeders Foundation donated more than $250,000 in support of amateur and minor football. Proceeds from this year's golf tournament will be directed through the Stampeders Foundation to support the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association.

"The annual golf tournament is a great event in support of a very worthwhile cause," said Calgary Stampeders president Gordon Norrie. "The team is extremely proud of the great work that is being done by the Stampeders Foundation and we're delighted to support high school athletics and amateur football throughout Calgary and Southern Alberta. I'm looking forward to a great day on the golf course and to the opportunity to spend the day with friends and supporters of the club."

The CSHSAA is recognized nationally for its belief that the amalgamation of Calgary's two educational systems into one common athletic association is in the best interests of the residents of Calgary. As such, the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Separate School District have worked harmoniously together for more than 100 years. Currently, 31 member high schools contribute to the success of the Association.

The CSHSAA currently has over 12,000 student athletes participating in 12 sports including football, cross country, soccer, volleyball, diving, wrestling, basketball, swimming, rugby, track and field, badminton and field hockey. CSHSAA Football includes over 1,400 participating student-athletes.
