About Madeline Smith

The 18-year-old Smith was born in New Jersey but has southern family background in Louisiana. This up-and-coming contemporary country artist grew up on country music, singing Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash. Her perfect pitch was discovered by her piano teacher at the tender age of 10 and at the age of 13, she started taking voice lessons. After picking up the guitar, Madeline immediately immersed herself in songwriting.

At 16, Smith put together a cover band of experienced musicians and started performing all over New Jersey. She then finished her self-titled debut album, on which she wrote or co-wrote every song, with Kent Wells (Dolly Parton's producer) which was released in July 2013. This album is available on her website ( www.MadelineSmithOfficial.com ), iTunes and Amazon .

A prolific songwriter, Madeline is working with multiple established industry songwriters and immersing herself in music. Currently attending college in Nashville, she flies out every weekend to perform with her band all over the United States and the United Kingdom. She has opened for Lauren Alaina, Darius Rucker and the Swon Brothers. Madeline's first single, "State of Mind", hit #16 on the UK country charts, and her newly released second single, Catchin' Fireflies, hit #20. She is the headliner for the 2014 National Girl Scouts Convention and the 2014 ALS Walk in Philadelphia, and has been asked to perform again at the 2014 British Country Music Awards.
