GREAT FALLS, Mont. (August 20, 2014) - The Great Falls Voyagers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead over the Helena Brewers Wednesday at Centene Stadium, but the rains came during the bottom of the third, forcing the game to be suspended.
Wednesday's game will be finished as part of a doubleheader Thursday, August 28 at Centene Stadium. The contest will resume with two on and no out in the bottom of the third with Great Falls leading 4-0.
The Voyagers (8-14, 31-29) opened the scoring in the bottom of the second against Helena starter Luis Ortega. With two outs and two on, Hunter Jones stepped up and clubbed a three-run home to left-center to give the home team the lead.
Great Falls added another run before the rain delayed things in the third. Zach Fish and Zach Fisher both reached to start the frame, then Dillon Haupt singled up the middle to bring Fish home. After the Haupt single, the umpires ushered everyone off the field due to the rain.
Zach Thompson was rolling for Great Falls, as the righty had only allowed one single with three strikeouts through three innings. The Burleson, Texas, native had retired the Brewers (9-13, 22-38) in order in two of his three frames of work.

The Voyagers and Brewers wrap-up their two-game set at Centene Stadium on Thursday night. Great Falls will turn to righty Luis Martinez (1-1, 1.76), while Helena will counter with fellow righty Josh Uhen (1-3, 5.12). First pitch is set for 7:00 and coverage will begin at 6:45 on 1400 AM KXGF and gfvoyagers.com.
