Lake County Captains News Release
(Bowling Green, KY)- Dorssys Paulino doubled and scored from second base on a sacrifice bunt and the Captains beat the Hot Rods 1-0. Paulino led off the fifth with a double and then Richard Stock put down a sac bunt, after the Hot Rod catcher Oscar Hernandez threw to first base, Paulino realized no one was covering home plate and raced in to score the only run of the game. Lake County has now won five straight series.
RHP Dace Kime (7-13) was the starting pitcher for Lake County. Dace Kime pitched six shutout innings and allowed one hit. Kime walked just one, hit a batter and struck out three to earn the win. Justin Brantley pitched two shutout innings of relief. Brantley allowed two hits and he fanned two. Trevor Frank pitched a 1-2-3 ninth inning to earn his 16th save on the season
LHP Ben Griset (2-7) started the game for the Hot Rods. Griset took the loss after he went six innings and allowed one earned run on five hits and one walk. Griset struck out six. Ben Schreiber pitched the final three innings of relief for Bowing Green. Schreiber allowed one hit, one walk and fanned five.
Lake County will begin a brief three-game home stand on Thursday. The Captains will play against the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Lake County will give the ball to LHP Luis Lugo (7-9, 5.32) and the TinCaps will counter with LHP Jeffery Enloe (4-5, 3.91). First Pitch will be at 7:00 PM from Classic Park in Eastlake, OH.
Thursday is Thirsty Thursday, presented by Labatt Blue and ESPN 850 WKNR, and features a .25-cent Labatt Blue Happy Hour from 6 PM until game time at 7 PM, and half-price domestic draft beer and fountain soda specials until 9 PM.
As part of Thirsty Thursday, the Captains also offer an all-you-can eat wing and pizza buffet outside the Corona Castaways Bar for only $13.
