Otters Begin Week-Long Roadtrip at Beach Bums

(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The first place Evansville Otters (48-30) begin a week-long roadtrip with a series opener and doubleheader at the Traverse City Beach Bums (32-49) on Wednesday night.
Both games are scheduled for seven innings each.
First pitch is set for 5:05 pm CDT at Wuerfel Park in Traverse City, Michigan.
The game will be broadcast live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski will have the call beginning at 4:45 pm CDT.
Evansville will have LHP Jose Velez (1-3, 2.37 ERA) on the mound in game one and RHP Trevor Walch (5-2, 3.55 ERA) on the bump in game two. Traverse City will throw RHP Tanner Tripp (1-8, 4.72 ERA) and LHP Alex Phillips (3-7, 4.24 ERA) in the doubleheader finale.
The Otters are 21-33 all time against the Beach Bums. Evansville is 4-2 this season against Traverse City, winning two of three at Bosse Field (July 9-10) and two of three at Wuerfel Park (June 18-19).
Evansville enters this series after winning two games against Washington (third game rained out) at Bosse Field this past weekend. Outfielder Chris Sweeney on the first game 5-4 for the Otters with a nine-inning game winning walk-off home run, and also won the second game 4-3 in 12 innings on August 16 with a walk-off two-run double.
The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.
Houck is on a 17 game hitting streak for the Otters. Outfielder Chris Elder has hit safely in nine straight games. First baseman Nik Balog is on an 8 game hitting streak.
The Otters are 21-15 on the road this season with a Frontier League best .583 winning percentage away from home.
