Wolves Extend Affiliation with Kalamazoo

The Chicago Wolves announced Wednesday that they have renewed their affiliation agreement with the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. This will be the third consecutive year that the teams have worked together.

"We look forward to continuing our relationship with a first-class organization like Kalamazoo," said Wolves general manager WENDELL YOUNG. "We have full confidence in head coach Nick Bootland and the Wings' ability to make our players better and allow them to smoothly transition to the American Hockey League."

The Wings play at the 5,113-seat Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, located in southwest Michigan. The K-Wings have won four division titles in the past five years since joining the ECHL at the start of the 2009-10 season. Kalamazoo posted a 42-22-3-5 record last year and were eliminated in six games by Greenville in the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals of the 2014 Kelly Cup playoffs.

Seven players spent time with both Chicago and Kalamazoo during the 2013-14 season. The group was comprised of forwards CODY BEACH, ERIC KATTELUS, YANNICK VEILLEUX, and SEBASTIAN WANNSTROM ; defensemen CADE FAIRCHILD and BRETT PONICH ; and goaltender JORDAN BINNINGTON .
