Philadelphia Union Renews Jersey Partnership with Bimbo Bakeries

Chester, Pa. (August 20, 2014) - Philadelphia Union today announced that they have renewed their multi-year partnership agreement with Bimbo Bakeries USA, extending the baking company's reign as the Union's jersey and team apparel sponsor. Headquartered in Horsham, Pa., Bimbo Bakeries USA (BBU) operates more than 60 bakeries in the United States and distributes top brands such as Bimbo ©, Arnold ©, Brownberry ©, Oroweat ©, Sara Lee ©, Thomas' ©, Entenmann's ©, Boboli ©, Stroehmann ©, Freihofer's ©, Mrs Baird's © and Marinela ©.

"We are very excited to extend our agreement with Bimbo Bakeries USA," said Philadelphia Union CEO & Operating Partner Nick Sakiewicz. "The relationship we have forged between our two organizations the past four years has produced so much value at many different levels. Our extremely successful relationship has allowed both of our brands, as well as the game of soccer, to grow exponentially in the marketplace and we are looking forward to taking it even to higher levels with new programs in the years to come."

Bimbo Bakeries USA will also continue to support youth soccer in the Delaware Valley as well as nationally. The Union and the Company will also look to implement more grass roots initiatives in the years to come.

Philadelphia Union is one of eight professional soccer teams to don the Bimbo logo. Chivas de Guadalajara, Monterrey, and America of the Mexican top flight, Saprissa and A.D. Isidro Metapán of Costa Rica, San Francisco FC of Panama and the Rochester Rhinos of the USL are all also sponsored by Bimbo.
