RiverDogs Host Drive in Final Homestand of 2014

CHARLESTON, SC - In the last homestand at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park this season, the Charleston RiverDogs will play the Greenville Drive for a three-game series from Tuesday, August 26 through Thursday, August 28. Although Charleston has already secured the Spinx Rivalry Series Trophy, there is still a lot of fun in store for these final home games at The Joe.

Tuesday, August 26, 7:05 pm: It is the final Harris Teeter 2-for-$20 Date Night Tuesday, presented by Nash FM. Couples that show a VIC Card at the box office will receive two tickets to the game, two tacos, two fountain drinks and a nacho tray for only $20. Harris Teeter will also host a food drive to benefit the Lowcountry Food Bank. Fans that bring at least two non-perishable Harris Teeter brand food items to the Riley Park Box Office will get $2 off any individual ticket (may not be combined with 2-for-$20 Date Night Special). Members of the College of Charleston women's lacrosse club team will use their sticks to fling t-shirts into the crowd during this game. There will be a Lucky Buddha sampling on the main concourse, and Lucky Beer will be sold in the Ashley View Pub. The RiverDogs have already won this in-state series against the Drive, but this game will continues the Battle of the Palmetto State Rivalry Series that is presented by Spinx.

Wednesday, August 27, 7:05 pm: The last Military Appreciation Night from ISHPI invites all military members and their immediate families to the game for free. HealthSouth Senior Wednesday, courtesy of MeTV, allows senior citizens who enter the park before 7 pm to receive a voucher for a free hot dog, chips and a 16-ounce fountain drink. All fans that enter the park before 7 pm may enjoy an Early Bird Special, which includes a hot dog, a basket of fries and a fountain drink for just $6. The RiverDogs will be presented with the Spinx Rivalry Series Trophy and recognize the Larry Doby Award honoree for Charleston's series MVP before Wednesday's game as a part of the Battle of the Palmetto State Rivalry series, sponsored by Spinx. Also, this year's T. Ashton Phillips Distinguished Service Award winner will be honored prior to the contest. Dogs with a Cause will promote the Avondale 5K and the Charles Webb Center.

Thursday, August 28, 6:35 pm: Gates open at 5 pm for the final home game of the regular season, which will be filled with awards, year-end recognition and fun finale festivities. Budweiser Thirsty Thursday, presented by 95SX, features $1 drafts and entertainment from DJ Natty Heavy in the Ashley View Pub, which will also host Wild Wing Cafe's wing-eating contest. The RiverDogs will celebrate Fan Appreciation Night by giving away RiverDogs fan packs through special raffles and in-game promotions. College of Charleston Night is also scheduled for Thursday as the CofC dance team and Clyde the Cougar will perform at the contest. There will also be special pregame recognition for the CofC baseball team and its run to the 2014 NCAA Super Regionals. The final RiverDogs home game also closes the Battle of the Palmetto State Rivalry Series, presented by Spinx. After the contest, be sure to stay just a little bit longer for one more exhilarating fireworks display over the scenic Ashley River.
