Idaho Falls Chukars News Release
IDAHO FALLS, ID. -- The Idaho Falls Chukars-Grand Junction Rockies game at Melaleuca Field scheduled for tonight (Tuesday, August 19th) has been suspended due to rain. The game will continue tomorrow, August 20th, starting at 5:00pm at Melaleuca Field as part of a doubleheader. It will be picked up in the top of the third inning, with the Rockies leading the Chukars 2-0. Once the nine inning game concludes, there will be a 30 minute break before the next seven inning game begins.
Grand Junction hopped in front, thanks to the first batter of the ballgame. Wes Rogers belted a leadoff home run to right field off of Mike Jeffreys. The Chukars had two hits in the first inning, but did not score. The Rockies added one more run in the second, with a throwing error by Pedro Gonzalez.
