Tiny Twin Terrors Earn Player of the Week Honours for Leos

August 19, 2014 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
B.C. Lions News Release

(Vancouver) Stacked one on top of another, running backs Stefan Logan and Tim Brown might not be able to look hulking rookie left tackle Hunter Steward in the eye, but both were huge in their own right in the Lions' 33-17 win over the Toronto Argonauts on Sunday and have earned CFL Player of the Week honours for their efforts.

Filling in for the injured Andrew Harris, a multi-award winner himself this season, Logan pounded his way to 145 rushing yards on 19 carries including a major score to take home Offensive Player of the Week kudos. The shifty tailback also added 49 yards on five receptions which helped push his combined yards on the year to 1,192 which is almost 200 more yards the next best player.

Brown also took full advantage of the roster adjustment on Sunday by racking up an incredible 249 total return yards including two separate 70-yard punt return efforts. In the process, the four-year vet was not only the runaway favourite for the Special Teams Player of the Week nod, but he also set a new team standard by surpassing Larry Crawford's career total of 6,029 combined return yards (kickoffs, punts and missed field goals) and is now up to 6,200 yards and counting.

The Lions (5-3) return home to face the Saskatchewan Roughriders (5-2) on Sunday, August 24th at 4:00 pm presented by Save-On-Foods.

There's no better way to enjoy summer than Lions football and two of the best ways to take in the action are the Global BC Family Zone ($30 including free hotdog and small pop) and the Gemstone Gridiron Deck ($30). Both sections are on sale now - visit ticketmaster.ca or call 604.589.ROAR for more information.
