Brace Commits to UNB

August 18, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Belleville Bulls News Release

FREDRICTON, NB - Long time OHL veteran and recently graduated Bull Cameron Brace will be taking his speed to Fredricton this fall. He will suit up for a perennial contender in the Varsity Reds at the University of New Brunswick under Head Coach Gardiner MacDougall.

With 265 games of OHL experience under his belt, Brace is ready to make the jump to squaring off with bigger, stronger competition. The former OHL champion finished his junior career with 106 goals and 100 assists and played a frontline role with the Bulls last season.

Brace joins a Varsity Reds program that comes off a 24-3-1 season in 2013-14. Disappointment struck UNB hard in the playoffs as Cory Tanaka, Matthew Tipoff and the rival Saint Mary's Huskies eliminated the Varsity Reds in the league semi-finals. Acadia would go on to take the AUS title.

UNB hopes its offseason recruitment will pay dividends this season as they've brought in Brace as well as former Oshawa Generals rearguard Colin Suellentrop and former OHL netminder Chris Carrozzi.

Known for his speed and quick feet, Brace will look to make an immediate impact on his new team this fall. UNB fans will no doubt enjoy his competitive nature and endless hustle.
