August 18, 2014 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The Memphis Redbirds scored six runs in the fifth inning of their 7-5 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Sunday at Southwest University Park. The Chihuahuas collected 15 hits in the loss, 12 of which came with two outs. The Redbirds have won the first two games of the four-game series.

El Paso's Donn Roach pitched four shutout innings to begin the game but allowed six runs on five hits in the ten-batter fifth inning. Redbirds first baseman Xavier Scruggs started the game 3-for-3 with a single, double and triple, but walked and struck out in his final two plate appearances seeking a cycle. The Chihuahuas rallied with runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings but could not catch the Redbirds, who surged ahead of Nashville for first place in the American Conference's Southern Division.

Taylor Lindsey went 3-for-5 with an RBI for the Chihuahuas, his third different three-hit game since joining the Padres organization in late July. Jonathan Galvez went 2-for-3 with his tenth home run of the season. Sunday's sellout was the 41st in 60 home openings at Southwest University Park.
