Hammerheads Look to Rebound

August 14, 2014 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Wilmington Hammerheads FC News Release

Wilmington, NC - Wilmington Hammerheads FC will travel to take on New York Red Bulls Reserve on Friday, August 15 at 8:00 p.m. ET at Lubetkin Field at NJIT. The Hammerheads are looking to rebound following a 2-1 loss in stoppage time against the Dayton Dutch Lions last weekend at Legion Stadium.

The Red Bulls enter Friday's match after suffering a 3-1 loss against the Harrisburg City Islanders last week at Skyline Sports Complex. After Harrisburg notched three goals, midfielder Michael Bustamante prevented New York from remaining scoreless with the lone goal of the night in the 65th minute.

New York has competed against three USL PRO clubs during their 2014 reserve league schedule prior to Friday's matchup versus the Hammerheads; claiming a 3-0 victory over the Dayton Dutch Lions, equalizing 1-1 with the Charleston Battery, and falling 1-0 to Oklahoma City Energy.

This weekend's match versus New York Red Bulls Reserve will not be streamed live for viewing.

The Hammerheads have a tough schedule coming up with three road games in five days on the West Coast. Wilmington is scheduled to face Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday, August 20 followed by Orange County Blues on Saturday, August 23 and LA Galaxy II on Sunday, August 24.

Wilmington is scheduled to host Orlando City on Thursday, August 28 at Legion Stadium to make up the match previously scheduled for July 3 that was cancelled due to Hurricane Arthur. All tickets dated for July 3 will be honored for this match.
