El Paso Chihuahuas News Release

The Nashville Sounds matched a season high for runs in a game in their 13-3 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Wednesday at Southwest University Park. Nashville scored six runs in an 11-batter fifth inning and added four more in the sixth.

San Diego Padres pitcher Andrew Cashner allowed three runs in his 2.2 innings injury rehab start. Cashner surrendered a solo home run to Nashville shortstop Hector Gomez and a two-run shot to former Padres minor leaguer Matt Clark. Nashville tacked on multiple runs against four different Chihuahuas pitchers before Hector Ambriz, Branch Kloess and Jerry Sullivan tossed scoreless innings each out of the El Paso bullpen.

The Chihuahuas used seven pitchers in the loss. Yeison Asencio went 3-for-4 with a home run in his second Triple-A game. Asencio is now 5-for-6 in two games since arriving from Double-A San Antonio.
