Stockton Thunder News Release
Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's New York Islanders and AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, resigned defenseman Landon Oslanski per Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm .
"We're happy to have Landon back for next year," Kromm said. "Landon had a great offensive year for us last season and we hope he's able to build upon that in 2014-15. He's what I'd consider a specialist on the power play with his great one-timer and he's someone who isn't afraid to put shots on goal."
Oslanski, 22, originally signed with the team in April 2013 on an amateur tryout contract. The defenseman made his debut in the 2013 Kelly Cup Playoffs, playing in 6 games and registering 1 assist. The rookie blueliner re-upped with the Thunder for 2013-14 to play his first full professional season. The 6'0", 202 lb. native of Camrose, Alberta suited up in 67 games and picked up 8 goals, 19 assists and 27 points. Oslanksi skated in 7 postseason games with the team and recorded two helpers.
Before Oslanski's pro career began, he played in 206 games with the Lethbridge Hurricanes of the WHL before being claimed off waivers by the Everett Silvertips, also of the WHL. In his lone season in Everett, Oslanski established career highs with 17 goals, 31 assists and 48 points. He finished his WHL career with 279 games played, 33 goals, 85 assists and 118 points.
Oslanski is joined by Ryan Constant, Shawn Boutin and Brad Stebner as players who've resigned with the Thunder for the 2014-15 season. The returners are joined by newcomers Tyler Maxwell, Ryan Howse, Jack MacLellan and Shane Owen .
