Two Warriors Make College Commitments

The Michigan Warriors, of the North American Hockey League, are pleased to announce that two players from the 2013-2014 season have made college commitments for the 2014-2015 season. "I'm happy for both players that they have a chance to pursue their hockey careers and at the same time get a great education at both schools." said Moe Mantha.

Forward Zack Szajner has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Ferris State University. Ferris State plays in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA). In the two seasons he played with the Warriors he tallied 72 points in 114 games, finishing in the top two in points for the team both years. Ferris State University finished the 2013-2014 season ranked #5 in all of division l hockey, with a 28-10-3 record. "I'm happy for Zack. He has worked extremely hard for the past two seasons to become a better player in both ends of the ice. He was one of the many players to help us win our division this past season. I'm glad he his getting rewarded for his efforts," said Warriors head coach Moe Mantha.

Forward Jake Hopfner has committed to play NCAA Division lll hockey for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire plays in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire took home the WIAC championship and finished with a 19-8-1 record during the 2013-2014 season. In the two seasons Jake played with the Warriors he tallied 42 points in 100 games. Jake will also be reuniting with 2013-2014 teammate TJ Stuntz, who committed to play for the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire earlier this year.
