Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
JUPITER, FL - The Hammerheads will be happy that they don't have to face Tyler Glasnow again this season. For the third time this year the Bradenton right hander shutdown Jupiter as the Marauders beat the Sharks 6-1 on Tuesday night.
Coming into the game Glasnow had not allowed a run in 12 innings against Jupiter and he continued to find success against the Sharks on Tuesday. The righty allowed four hits, two off the bat of Anthony Gomez, and struck out 10 as he earned his 10th win of the season.
Even with Glasnow's great outing the Hammerheads still had opportunities to break through off him.
In the third, Noah Perio led off with a walk and Gomez reached on a one out single before Glasnow threw a wild pitch which moved both men into scoring position. But Glasnow would get out of the jam when he got Justin Bohn to pop up and Ryan Goetz to strikeout.
The Sharks would have another chance in the fifth when Perio walked again and scampered to third when Gomez dropped a single in front of the right fielder. Bohn would fly out to end the threat.
Again the Hammerheads would have runners on the corners in the sixth thanks to singles by Goetz and Cody Keefer but again they could not break through.
Jupiter would score its lone run in the seventh inning off of Tyler Sample when Sharif Othman walked and later scored on a single by Goetz. The run would be charged to Glasnow.
The Marauders would jump on Jupiter in the first thanks to rocky start by the Sharks. Max Moroff led off the game with a single and Walker Gourley followed with a walk. Jordan Steranka would then put down a bunt and when Scott Lyman's throw to first was wild and went into the stands, Moroff scored.
Jose Osuna would then hit a sac fly to make it 2-0 Bradenton. Steranka would later score on a wild pitch.
The Marauders would add to the lead in the third when Steranka hit a RBI double and Eric Wood later singled to center to plate him.
Bradenton would score once more in the sixth when Colby Suggs hit Osuna with the bases loaded to cap the scoring.
The Hammerheads and Marauders will play the middle game of the three-game series on Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
