(Burlington-IA) Los Angeles Angels first round draft choice, LHP Sean Newcomb, will make his Burlington Bees debut, starting game one of a three game series with Peoria on Tuesday.

The East Bridgewater, Massachusetts native pitched three seasons at the University of Hartford in Hartford Connecticut. Newcomb posted an 8-2 record with a 1.25 ERA in 14 games, all starts for the Hawks, in junior season. The Angels first round selection struck out 106 batters in 93.1 innings in 2014.

The left-hander set the University of Hartford record for career strikeouts and was named Second Team All-American this spring.
