Salamida Stands out Again

Winnipeg Goldeyes pitcher Chris Salamida has once again been recognized for his outstanding work on the mound. Salamida has been named the Pointstreak American Association Pitcher of the Week, for the week ending August 10, 2014.
This is the second time in three weeks that Salamida has received this honour. Last week, Salamida was also named the ZEV Custom Apparel Goldeyes Player of the Month for July.
In Salamida's one start this past week, he pitched a complete game only giving up one run. He struck out eight of the 34 batters he faced and kept the Wichita Wingnuts to a .166 batting average yesterday afternoon in a 5-1 win .
Salamida is pacing the Goldeyes pitchers this season with 79 Ks through 106 2/3 innings pitched. He also leads the league with four complete games.
The Goldeyes are off on Monday, as they get set to take on the St. Paul Saints in a three-game series that goes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. All three games are scheduled as 7 p.m. starts at Shaw Park. The Goldeyes currently lead the Saints by three games atop the North Division.
