Restricted Free Agent Turner Joins Mammoth
August 11, 2014 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) - Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced that the team has signed restricted free agent Alex Turner. Minnesota had the right to match Colorado's offer to the veteran forward, but opted against it.
"Our offense has a lot of talented players with the ball in their sticks, but there was a need for a guy who will go inside and set picks and bang bodies; Alex will do that for us," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett.
Turner spent the last three seasons in Edmonton. In 2011, he enjoyed career-highs in goals (17), assists (22), and points (39) with Philadelphia.
The 27-year-old British Columbia native was acquired just two weeks ago by the Swarm from the Rush in exchange for a third-round draft pick. Now, he's the newest member of the Mammoth.
