Green Bay Rockers News Release

Green Bay, Wis. - The 2014 Green Bay Bullfrogs will take the field at Joannes Stadium for the final time on Sunday, as they complete a home-and-home series with the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. The Bullfrogs come into Sunday's game with a 35-36 overall record and sit at .500 for the second half of the season with an 18-18 record.

On Saturday night in Wisconsin Rapids, the Bullfrogs fell to the Rafters by a score of 10-1. Wisconsin Rapids opened up a 5-1 lead by scoring five runs in the seventh inning to pull ahead by nine runs. Dean Long (Emporia State) led the Bullfrogs offensively by going 2-for-3, contributing the only run of the game for Green Bay with a solo home run in the first inning. It was Long's fourth home run of the season, which is good for second most on the Bullfrogs this year.

For the final game of the season, the Bullfrogs will hand the ball off to Justin Mullins (UC-Davis). The six-foot-four right hander will be making his first start of the season on Sunday after appearing in 13 games out of the Bullpen for Green Bay. In those 13 innings of work, Mullins has amassed a 1-1 record with a 4.84 ERA. On July 25th against the La Crosse Loggers, Mullins picked up his first win of the season, throwing a perfect two-thirds of an inning in relief. He has not surrendered a run in his last three appearances.

Wisconsin Rapids will counter with Jason Freeman (Texas A&M) on the mound, Sunday. Freeman has appeared in eleven games for the Rafters this season and will be making his ninth start of the year on Sunday. Freeman owns a 2-3 record with a 3.66 ERA over 46.2 innings of work. He has struck out 41 batters while walking only 16 on the season. One of Freeman's two wins this season came against the Bullfrogs on June 24th when he threw seven innings and gave up three runs on six hits while striking out five.

First pitch for the season finale is slated for 5:05 p.m. from Joannes Stadium in Green Bay.
