Amarillo Bulls News Release

AMARILLO, TX - New Amarillo Bulls Head Coach Jon Rogger knew he needed to bolster his offense following the completion of Main Camp last week. The Bulls made a step in that direction today (Friday) by completing a trade with the South Division rival Lone Star Brahmas.

The Bulls acquired forward Charles Combs from the Brahmas in exchange for defenseman Sean Giles.

Combs spent this past season with the St. Louis AAA Blues of the Tier I Elite League where he notched 30 goals and 23 assists for 53 points in 34 games. Combs had four power play goals and four game winners. The St. Louis, Missouri native had 31 points (20 goals and 11 assists) in 40 games during the 2012-2013 campaign.

"He will be a major upgrade to our top six forward and a welcomed addition to our line-up," said Rogger. "I watched Charles play in St. Louis and most recently during the summer and was impressed with him."

Giles was signed as a tender by the Bulls in January from the Colorado Rampage of the Tier I Elite League. In 36 games for the Rampage, Giles was a major part of their special teams. Giles, a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, had four goals and nine assists for 13 points. All four of his goals were scored via the power play. During the 2012-13 season with the Rampage, Giles had five goals and five assists for 10 points in 38 games.

The hard hitting action of Amarillo Bulls hockey is fast approaching. The Bulls regular season begins Wednesday, Sept. 17 at the North American Hockey League Showcase in Blaine, Minnesota. The home opener is set for Friday, Sept. 26 against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees at 7 pm at the Budweiser Bull Pen in the Amarillo Civic Center.

The best way to catch all of the exciting action is to purchase full or half Season Tickets and become part of the Bulls family. For further information on various packages that are available, please call the Bulls Office at 806-242-1122 or visit 301 South Polk in the Amarillo Building.
