Red Deer Rebels News Release
RED DEER, AB - Brent Sutter, Owner/General Manager/Head Coach of the Red Deer Rebels Hockey Club, announced today the team will bid to host the 2016 MasterCard Memorial Cup.
A decision on the host community is expected in the early part of the 2014-15 WHL season.
Brent Sutter - "Junior hockey fans in Central Alberta, and across our province, have long desired to host another Memorial Cup. Our facility, volunteers, and community have shown time and time again that we are outstanding hosts for national events, and this will be no exception. We have spent a great deal of time positioning our hockey team, and the recent expansion of the Enmax Centrium gives us an ideal venue to play the games. The Rebels are ALL IN for our 2016 MasterCard Memorial Cup bid!"
