Phantoms Acquire Lomberg from Lincoln

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO- The Youngstown Phantoms have announced the acquisition of forward Ryan Lomberg from the Lincoln Stars, in exchange for a Phase II second round pick and two other conditional draft picks.
The 19-year-old, Richmond Hill, Ontario, native returns to the USHL after spending the last two seasons at the University of Maine, where he tallied 18 goals and added 14 assists in 66 games played.
In his lone USHL season in 2011-12, Lomberg appeared in 52 games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks, leading the team in scoring with 40 points (22g, 18a). He was also tied for the team lead in both power play goals (5) and shorthanded goals (2). In four games against Youngstown that season, he accounted for two goals and an assist, helping the Lumberjacks to a 2-2-0 record against the Phantoms.
"Ryan Lomberg brings invaluable experience to our locker room, and plays the game the way we want it played," said Phantoms head coach Anthony Noreen. "We are excited to have him come to Youngstown and prove what he can be as a player and a person"
Lomberg was drafted by Muskegon in the first round (#6 overall) of the 2011 USHL Entry Draft, after scoring 99 points (52g, 47a) in 54 games for The Hill Academy in 2010-11.
