Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, today announced that the team has hired Josh Foreman as the team's head equipment manager. Foreman, who has served as an assistant equipment manager for the Royals since the 2012-13 season, will be responsible for all matters related to obtaining, distributing, managing, maintaining, repairing, transporting and storing the practice and game day equipment for the Royals' players and staff.
"We're pleased to bring Josh on as the team's head equipment manager," said Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Larry Courville. "He's been an important part of our team since our championship season in 2012-13, and he has shown himself to be a dedicated and tireless worker-two absolutely crucial character traits in the role of equipment manager, which is a critical and often thankless job with the team."
"I want to thank the Royals' owner, Jack Gulati, the team's president, Drew Bell, and Coach Courville for this opportunity," said Foreman. "I'm extremely excited about the upcoming season, and I look forward to doing all that I can to help our team and organization have success on and off the ice."
Foreman (33) was born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and raised in Reading. He joined the Marine Corps after graduating from Reading High School in 2000. Foreman served two tours of duty in Iraq, during which he was decorated with the Purple Heart for injuries sustained on May 9, 2004, prior to retiring from the Corps with the rank of sergeant in 2009. Foreman, and his wife, Shannon, reside in Hamburg, Pennsylvania, with their two young children, Bricen and Josh, Jr.
The Royals open the 2014-15 season on Saturday, October 19, at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, West Virginia, where the team will face the Wheeling Nailers. The home portion of the schedule will kick off the following Saturday (October 25, 2014 @ 7:05 pm) when the Elmira Jackals will travel to Santander Arena. Royals' season tickets are currently available. Call 610-898-7825 for more information or log onto www.royalshockey.com.
