Green Bay Rockers News Release

Green Bay, Wis. - The Green Bay Bullfrogs enter the final week of the 2014 season on Monday with a game, and the completion of another game, against the Kenosha Kingfish. Before playing their regularly scheduled game at 7:05 p.m., the Bullfrogs and Kingfish will finish their game that was suspended due to fog from Saturday, June 21st.

In the Bullfrogs most recent game, on Sunday against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters at Joannes Stadium, Green Bay won on a walk-off hit by Franco Guardascione (Palm Beach State College) in the eleventh inning. The win gave the Bullfrogs a series sweep of the two-game, home-and-home series with the Rafters over the weekend. Four Green Bay players recorded two hits on the night, with Ivan Vieitez (Lenoir-Rhyne) leading the way going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI. Dan Becks (St. Edwards) threw two scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win for the Bullfrogs on Sunday.

On Monday, the Bullfrogs will start Luke Watson (UW-Stevens Point) on the mound as they look for their third straight win. Watson, who has a 2-2 record with a 4.46 ERA, has appeared in 16 games this season for Green Bay and will be making his seventh start of the season on Monday. The Appleton, Wisconsin native had his best start of the year in his last start, which came against the Wisconsin Woodchucks on July 30th. In that start, Watson threw seven scoreless innings and gave up only three hits to the Woodchucks. Overall this season, Watson has struck out 43 while walking only 13 in 42.1 innings of work.

Kenosha will counter with Dillon Mazzoccoli (Blinn College) at pitcher on Monday night. The six-foot-four sophomore will be making his third start for the Kingfish and in eleven appearances overall this season, he owns a 2-0 record with a 2.85 ERA. Last time out for Mazzoccoli, he earned a no decision against the Lakeshore Chinooks after he threw four and two-thirds innings, giving up two runs on three hits, while striking out seven.

The completion of the game from June 21st will resume at 5:30 p.m. on Monday night. The game will resume with the score tied at seven in the top of the tenth inning. Matt Beaty (Belmont) is at the plate for the Bullfrogs with a 3-1 count and runners on first and second with nobody out.

The regularly scheduled game between the Bullfrogs and Kingfish is scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. on Monday night.
