RiverDogs Sign Dr. Marshall of Lowcountry Urology Clinics to One-Day Contract

Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs have announced that they have agreed to terms with free agent Dr. Ian Marshall of Lowcountry Urology Clinics on a one-day contract. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Though, free Homewreckers and Peanut Butter & Jelly Jalapeno Bacon Burgers are believed to be included.
Dr. Marshall will join the team and be with the ballclub for the team's 6:05 home game on Saturday night at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park against the Hagerstown Suns. He will perform a prostate exam on RiverDogs Executive Vice President/General Manager Dave Echols while Echols leads the crowd in singing the Take Me Out to the Ballgame during the 7th inning stretch. Echols will fulfill his role in the "Two-Knuckle Challenge" in the visitor's radio booth inside the Press Box at The Joe.
Ed Randall's Bat for the Cure, an organization that raises awareness for prostate cancer, will also be at Saturday's game. There will be a silent auction of team-signed memorabilia to raise money for the fight against prostate cancer. The event also coincides with the ballclub's annual Prostate Awareness Night.
"I am very excited to join the RiverDogs organization, even if just for one day" said Dr. Marshall. "I want to applaud the RiverDogs for helping bring attention to prostate cancer awareness, and I'm glad to be able to help the cause. This is all about Fierce Fallon and prostate cancer awareness, and hopefully people can have fun with it in the process."
"I am in great, and fortunately small, hands with Dr. Marshall," said Echols.
The "Two-Knuckle Challenge" was laid out to Echols by Andy Milovich, the GM of the Myrtle Beach Pelicans. Milovich recently underwent a prostate exam during a Pelicans game on July 24. Lake Elsinore Storm Owner/President Dave Oster also had a similar procedure done recently during a Storm game. Following Echols' exam, he will lay out the challenge to John Katz, the GM of the Savannah Sand Gnats.
Milovich accepted the challenge to support Fallon Emery, a nine-year-old girl from Carolina Forest, SC who is fighting brain cancer and receiving her treatments at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Fans are encouraged to like "Fierce Fallon" on Facebook ( www.facebook.com/fiercefallon ) and learn about her battle against brain cancer. The "Fierce Fallon" page needs 13,000 likes to guarantee that Echols will receive in his in-game prostate exam during the seventh-inning stretch. For more information about Fallon Emery, visit www.fiercefallon.com .
There is also a group portal available online for fans to purchase $10 tickets to Saturday's RiverDogs game. Five dollars from each ticket purchased via the portal will go directly toward Fierce Fallon. The portal may be located at http://bit.ly/1kbe86J, and the password to purchase tickets is fiercefallon14.
