Sean Bierman Named Pitcher of the Month

(RAMAPO, N.Y.) - Starting pitcher Sean Bierman was named the Pointstreak Pitcher of the Month in the Can-Am League for the month of July, as announced by the league office on Friday. It is the third league honor for the lefty who has also received two Pitcher of the Week awards.

Bierman (6-5) earned a 5-1 record in the month of July, appearing in six games while making five starts. The southpaw posted a 1.67 Earned Run Average in 43 total innings, going the distance in two of his decisions. He also struck out 23 batters and walked just six while holding opponents to a .253 batting average. The reigning Pitcher of the Week, Bierman represented the Rockland Boulders at the 2014 American Association-Canadian American League All-Star in Winnipeg on July 29, pitching a scoreless fourth inning.

Currently, Bierman is the league leader with a 2.10 ERA, ranks third in the league in wins (6), and sixth in strikeouts (51).
