Wichita, KS (August 1st) - Wichita and Tulsa have a long-standing history, spanning 22 seasons and 250 regular-season meetings. Today, the two teams announced they will be playing one another in an exhibition game on Saturday, October 18th at 4 p.m. at the Wichita Ice Center. The game will serve as the front half of a double header as the Wichita Junior Thunder will take on the Oklahoma City Junior Blazers immediately following the conclusion of the game.

The Thunder has hosted the Oilers four-straight seasons in an exhibition contest and five out-of-the last six. Wichita is 4-2-0 since 2010-11 against Tulsa with one of those losses taking place on the road. Wichita has enjoyed home-ice during the pre-season over the last five years. The Junior Blazers are coached by former Oklahoma City Blazers and Tulsa Oilers Tyler Fleck and Marty Standish.

Wichita Thunder training camp will open on Monday, October 13th at the Wichita Ice Center. Dates and times have yet to be determined and will also be announced at a later time.
