Louisville Bats News Release
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville Bats will kick off a four-game homestand with a Joey Votto bobblehead giveaway on Saturday, August 2 at Louisville Slugger Field. Gates open at 5 p.m. for the 6:05 p.m. game and the first 3,000 paid admissions will receive the giveaway. Jake the Diamond Dog will perform during Saturday's game.
On Sunday, Louisville Slugger mini bats will be given away to the first 1,000 children 12-and-under and fans can get players' autographs from 4:50-5:30 p.m. on the field. The PGA will also be hosting family activities in the Hall of Fame Pavilion.
Saturday will mark the Bats' third bobblehead giveaway of the season, preceded by Homer Bailey and Jay Bruce bobblehead giveaways earlier this year. The fourth and final bobblehead giveaway of the 2014 season will feature Johnny Cueto and be held on Saturday, August 30.
After finishing off a three-game road trip in Columbus, Ohio on Friday night, the Bats will return home on Saturday and play host to the Rochester Red Wings (61-51), Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins, for the only time this season. The club is 5-11 in its 16 games since the All-Star break but holds a 55-58 record and is third in the International League West division, just four games back of the Columbus Clippers with a month remaining in the season.
The Bats have averaged 8,979 fans per game at Louisville Slugger Field since its opening in 2000 and have totaled over 8.8 million fans through 14 seasons. Tickets for all regular season games are available. The entire 2014 Bats schedule, including updated promotions and special events, can be found at batsbaseball.com. Single-game tickets may be purchased online, by calling 1-855-228-8497 or by visiting the Louisville Slugger Field box office. Full and partial season tickets along with group outings and suite rentals are available by calling the Bats front office at 502-212-2287.
