Both the North Shore Navigators (19-27) and the Torrington Titans (24-22) put runners aboard on Wednesday, but it was the North Shore Navigators that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 6-4 win at Fraser Field.
Brandon Bingel racked up two RBIs on two hits for the North Shore Navigators. He singled in the fourth inning and tripled in the sixth innings.
Kyle Gauthier had an impressive outing against the Torrington Titans' lineup. Gauthier held the Torrington Titans hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Mike Odenwaelder boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace the Torrington Titans. He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the second, fourth, and ninth innings.
Steve Xirinachs got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over six innings. Xirinachs struck out three, walked one and gave up seven hits.
Mike Bonaiuto ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked three and struck out four.
