Alexandria Blue Anchors News Release

Alexandria, Minn. - The Alexandria Blue Anchors fell to the Eau Claire Express Thursday night, losing by a final score of 5-2.

The first run of the game would have to wait until the bottom of the fifth inning, as both starting pitchers were superb. A sac fly by Jordan Lee would bring in that run to make it 1-0 Anchors heading into the sixth inning.

Eau Claire would answer right back however, scoring one on a Brian Mundell RBI single to tie the game back up in the top of the sixth.

In the seventh, Lane Milligan sent a rocket over the right field fence to take 2-1 lead before the seventh inning stretch.

Eau Claire would then add insurance in the eight after an RBI single from Alex Call would score one more to make it 3-1 Express

In the ninth, two more Eau Claire runs would score after some walks, a sac fly, and a wild pitch would make it a 5-1 lead for the Express.

The Anchors started to rally in the bottom of the ninth, a Jordon Lee RBI single drove in a second run for the Anchors, unfortunately, that would not be enough, as they would lose 5-2.
