SYRACUSE, NY. "" The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) released its 2014-15 regular season opening date schedule today, with the Syracuse Silver Knights' season set to kick off on Saturday, November 8, 2014 against the Baltimore Blast at the Baltimore Arena.
The Silver Knights' home opener will feature Thruway rival, the Rochester Lancers, on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the OnCenter War Memorial Arena.
"I am very excited about this year's season and our opening dates. Many of our players are entering their fourth season playing indoor soccer and I think they are ready to make a strong impact on the new MASL. We plan to build on last year's success and position ourselves to compete for the first MASL championship", stated Tommy Tanner, President and Head Coach.
Tanner added, "We are especially looking forward to our home opening night on November 21st against Rochester. We have had some epic battles with the Lancers and I see that rivalry continuing. I hope all of Syracuse comes out on November 21st to support the Silver Knights".
Syracuse, along with each of the twenty-three MASL clubs, will play 20 games in the 2014-15 season "" 10 at home and 10 away. "Like last year, a 20-game schedule has allowed us to get some really great home dates at the OnCenter", noted Pete Ramin, Vice President of Operations.
