Today's Game: The RedHawks try for a third straight win for the first time since mid-June and try to improve to 3-0 in the current series when they play the Round Rock Express at 7:05 p.m. at Dell Diamond.

Last Game: Carrying over from a big offensive performance the night before, the RedHawks scored five runs in the first four innings to lead the way to a 5-4 win Wednesday over Round Rock. The RedHawks scored three times in the first inning. Matt Duffy brought home a run on a fielder's choice, and Preston Tucker later added a two-run single. Round Rock also scored in the first inning when Jared Hoying lined a RBI triple to right field and then scored on Ryan Rua's RBI groundout. The Express pulled even in the third, with Hoying driving in another run with a single. The RedHawks regained the lead in the fourth when Austin Wates knocked in two runs with a single up the middle to make it 5-3. It stayed that way until the bottom of the eighth. With two runners on and two outs, Bryan Petersen battled RedHawks reliever Jason Stoffel during a 14-pitch at-bat, which ended in an RBI single. Kevin Chapman then took over on the mound and retired all four batters he faced to sew up the win and earn his eighth save. Asher Wojciechowski (1-3) earned his first win of the season after he pitched a season-high 5.1 innings. He allowed three runs and seven hits with two walks and five strikeouts.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Alex White (1-3) makes his fourth start of the season for OKC...In his last start Thursday at home against Round Rock, he allowed one run and three hits over a season-high five innings. He finished with one walk and three strikeouts in a no decision...White's first 15 appearances were all out of the bullpen, but he transitioned to a starting role beginning July 9. Through his first three starts, opponents are batting about 100 points lower against him as a starter (.256) than as a reliever (.350)...White continues to rebound after spending the entire 2013 season on the Disabled List. He suffered a right elbow strain during his last start of 2013 Spring Training and underwent Tommy John surgery in April 2013. Prior to the injury, the Astros announced he would open the season in the starting rotation...White came to the Astros from Colorado as part of a trade for reliever Wilton Lopez Dec. 4, 2012...He was selected by Cleveland with the 15th overall pick of the 2009 draft from the University of North Carolina. He was traded to Colorado on July 31, 2011 as part of a package for Ubaldo Jimenez...Tonight marks his second career appearance against the Express.

Against the Express : 2014: 7-7 2013: 8-8 All-time: 83-74 In RR: 43-34

The RedHawks pulled even with the Express in the season series with Wednesday's win and have won three of the last four meetings...The Express won the most recent series, 3-1, July 21-24 in OKC. The teams combined for 48 runs in the series, almost tripling their run total from their previous series in which they combined for just 17 runs over four games, April 28-May 1...Following last night, the RedHawks have a 64-60 edge in runs scored this season...After batting .205 against the RedHawks over the first eight meetings, the Express have hit .281 (62x221) over the last six games...The RedHawks have struck out at least seven Express hitters in 13 of their first 14 meetings. They have 133 total strikeouts over 126.0 IP and have registered at least 10 K's five times.

It's Been Awhile: The RedHawks have a chance to reach a couple of marks that have evaded them in recent times. Tonight they'll look to win three straight games for the first time since June 15-17, when they beat Las Vegas twice at home and followed that up with a series-opening win in Reno. (This is the fourth time they've won back-to-back games since.) Also, the RedHawks look to take the first three games of a series for just the second time this season, and the first time since April 7-9 in New Orleans. This is just the second time in the past 16 series the RedHawks have won the first two games.

Getting Offensive: The RedHawks have scored 12 runs over the past two games after totaling just nine runs over the five games prior. OKC has racked up 25 hits over the last two games, almost matching the 27 hits they had in the previous five games combined.

Heavy Wates: With a two-run single last night, Austin Wates now has 15 RBI this month, equaling his season total entering July. Wates has seven hits in his last four games (7x18) and paces the RedHawks with 28 hits and 18 walks in July. He leads the PCL with 31 stolen bases this season and ranks eighth in the league with a .396 on-base percentage.

Men of Steal: The RedHawks lead the PCL and all of Triple-A with 39 stolen bases in July. Their 93 steals this season rank fourth in the league...Jonathan Villar and Austin Wates are tied for the league lead with Fresno's Darren Ford with 12 steals this month. Villar has nine swipes in the last 11 games.

Perez Packing Punch: Carlos Perez has hit safely in 18 of his last 22 games and has batted .342 (25x73) over that stretch, raising his season average by 40 points from .220 to .260. He leads OKC with a .343 average this month.

Duff Man: Matt Duffy has 10 RBI over his last 12 games. In his last five meetings with Round Rock, Duffy has collected eight RBI.

Dinger Drought: The RedHawks have not gone deep in past four games, tying their season high for most consecutive games without a home run (fifth time this season). They have hit just one homer in the past seven games, and their 12 homers this month are second-fewest in the league (Sacramento - 11). It's also their lowest monthly output since July 2011 (11).

Close Calls: 19 of 28 games this month have been decided by one or two run-including five of the last seven-with the RedHawks going 8-11 in those contests. Overall the RedHawks are 29-28 in games decided by one or two runs.

Turn the Page: The RedHawks enter their final outing of July with an 11-17 record during the month. The last time the RedHawks finished a full month of a season with fewer than 14 wins was in June 2011, when Oklahoma City went 11-18.
